The tennis season is full on with the big tournaments being played and we have just enjoyed a magnificent Grand Slam hosted in Paris – Roland Garros. And now our tennis kids are asking which is the best Roland Garros kit for junior players? Here at Zoe Alexander we offer our take on the French Open and what it means to us…

Roland Garros – The French Open

Here at Zoe Alexander we wanted to celebrate Roland Garros and its place in the tennis world as the epitome of clay tennis tournaments. The French Open (French: Internationaux de France de tennis), also known as Roland-Garros, is a major tennis tournament held over two weeks at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, beginning in late May each year.

The tournament and venue are named after the French aviator Roland Garros. The French Open is the premier clay court championship in the world and the only Grand Slam tournament currently held on this surface. It is chronologically the second of the four annual Grand Slam tournaments, occurring after the Australian Open and before Wimbledon and the US Open. Until 1975, the French Open was the only major tournament not played on grass. Between the seven rounds needed for a championship, the clay surface characteristics (slower pace, higher bounce), and the best-of-five-set men’s singles matches, the French Open is widely regarded as the most physically demanding tennis tournament in the world.

 

Roland Garros Best Tennis Kit for Juniors

To capture the ethos of Roland Garros and its formidable history as the best clay tennis venue we at Zoe Alexander chose the combination of the ochre tan to match the clay and the neon yellow of the tennis balls to honour the tradition of the French Open. Both the boys and girls tennis kits feature this stunning colour combination to full effect.

Roland Garros Girls Tennis Dress

We continued the theme of ochre tan with neon yellow into the girls version of our Roland Garros kit. This dress is made from our signature breathable cotton with the high neckline and cross strap racerback design. Neon yellow back straps accompany the matching neon yellow skirt section. Finishing accessories are the matching tennis cap and calf warmers with K-Swiss clay tennis shoes in neon yellow and orange. What better way to celebrate the ultimate in clay tournaments!

What was your favourite moment from Roland Garrios this year?

The Ladies final between Iga Swiatek and Karolina Muchova was a beautiful match to watch. Both players put up a strong fight but Iga was the eventual winner 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
The Men’s final was played between Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud, resulting in a solid three set victory by Novak, 7-6 (1), 6-3, 7-5.
